Probe --- The probe is the best base-building unit. I say this because it doesn't have to wait for a building to "build." Also, (though it looks puny) it can stand up to other building units except the SCV. I normally get around 40 probes gathering both vespene and gas.

Zealot --- The zealot is the first fighting unit available to you. However, it is useful even in the late game. I normally use them with cannons to defend my base early. The bad thing about them is that they take 2 on your psi limit. Never pit 100 zealots against 200 hydras or 400 zerglings. You will get smoked if you do. Also, stay away from firebats the best you can if you like zealots.

Dragoon --- The dragoon is just a walking photon cannon basically. Maybe its cooldown rate is higher, but it can move.

High Templar --- The high templar is a VERY valuable unit. I only use them for their psionic storm ability.

Archon --- An archon is just two high templar joined. I don't use these guys much because they don't serve me much if they are in groups. Also, they take up too much vespene. (I am always short on vespene)

Reaver --- Although I don't use them very often, reavers rock!!!! If your opponent has only hydras or marine, go for reavers. But don't over do it, because often times once your opponent's hydras or marines are gone, they come in with air. (especially a zerg player)

Scout --- I also don't get scouts very often. However, they are great units with an awesome attack capability. Make sure to keep at least 2 observers with them though.

Carrier --- These units may not be totally good, but I get them. Their intercepters can be a bad or good point. Against packed groups of small units, (hydras or marines) they suck bad. If you run into this type of creative army, use your arbiter and do statis a couple of times to cut his army into half.

Observer --- They guys are essential to any protoss player. Get them ASAP and send them to every open mineral field so you know when and where the enemy expands.

Shuttle --- Since I normally don't play on maps with a lot of places that can only be reached by air, I almost never get these units. They are essential for a reaver drop though.

Arbiter --- The arbiter is an interesting unit. I LOVE'EM!!!! NEVER use carriers without these guys. I upgrade only the statis and more energy thing for these units.

Photon Cannons --- These "units" are your first line of defense. I always get them against comps, but only agains a human zerg player.
